Last updated September 2026. By creating a WPGuard account or installing the WPGuard agent on a site, you agree to these terms.

What WPGuard is

WPGuard is a monitoring service for WordPress sites. It observes and reports security-relevant activity via a lightweight agent you install yourself, and can perform a fixed set of remedial actions (listed on our Security page) only when you or an authorized member of your workspace explicitly triggers them.

Your responsibilities

  • You must have the legal right to install monitoring software on any site you connect — either because you own it, or because you're authorized by its owner (e.g., as their developer or agency).
  • You're responsible for keeping your account credentials, and any 2FA recovery codes, secure.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of any price you set for a site under the per-site billing model, and for your own arrangements with your clients regarding what you charge them.
  • Destructive actions (quarantining a plugin, resetting a password, destroying sessions) are triggered by you or your workspace members — WPGuard does not take these actions autonomously without an explicit trigger.

What we don't guarantee

WPGuard is a monitoring and alerting tool, not a guarantee against compromise. No security product can detect every possible attack. We alert on the patterns described on our Security page and continue to add coverage over time, but you remain responsible for your own site's overall security posture, backups, and incident response.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through PayPal at the workspace level, as the sum of your connected sites' individual prices at the time of billing. Changing a site's price takes effect from your next billing cycle, not retroactively. You can cancel at any time from your workspace settings; monitoring stops for a site once its agent is disconnected or its subscription ends.

Acceptable use

You may not use WPGuard to monitor a site you don't have authorization to monitor, attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the agent's command interface, or use the service in a way that disrupts other customers' use of the platform.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We'll post updates to this page and, for material changes, notify workspace owners by email. Continued use of WPGuard after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
